Intreating idea, lets just hope that it is better than the re-hash of lost in space, seriously another remake i wish there was more origional ideas brought forward and not just raiding the archives for stuff that has gone before.
Saying that i wish sky all the best because at least they occasionally take risks when most tv campanys around the world just want to make cheap reality shows |

I've always thought that a present day audience, especially X-files fans, would be appreciative of the kind of mind games The Prisoner always played. I hope they don't change it too much. Personally the thing I always remembered most from when I watched it as a kid was Rover. I hope they can update him/it and keep the same sense of menace. |

Christopher Eccelston as Number 6, Great. He is going to revive all my Favorite Brittish Sci Fi. ..... I wonder if he'd Be Captain Scarlet |

Unfortunately, not too long after this was posted, the idea has been been shelved. I wasn't too sure about are-imagining anyway and part of the charm of the original was 60's psychdelica I just can't see working today. I think, other than losing out on Eccleston playing the part, I am glad it isn't going to happen.

No Prisoner, BUMMER! Personally, I think it would work. A modern day Intelegent agent, with a fondness for the sixties, wakes up in the Village as we remember it. new story old shtick. Back to the Drawing baord |

I did a search and I haven't found anything that the remake is dead. Personally I would like to see a re-imaging of The Prisoner. It could work if done right. |

My error completely. The remake has NOT been shelved, by all reports, but Christopher Eccleston has NOT singed to play Number Six, nor even been approached about the possibility according to his agent.

My apologies. I must have misread the story originally.

You can add a motion picture now. It seems Universal Pictures is near a deal for Batman Returns helmer Christopher Nolan to direct a feature film version of the classic TV series The Prisoner, Variety reported.

I like this idea much better than the TV version they were talking about. Nolan will respect the original.
